While policies like clean energy targets and fuel economy standards are important to define our goals, a climate bank can finance our path to get there. In a Detroit Free Press op-ed, Rep. Debbie Dingell of Michigan sets forth a clear vision to protect our future:
“The 100-by-50 bill sets a national goal for achieving a clean economy. I will also be introducing legislation that establishes a national climate bank to publicly finance and stimulate private investments in clean, renewable energy products.”
A climate bank can connect public dollars to specific projects, helping to reach 100% clean energy targets faster, reduce energy costs, and support environmental justice and a just transition. This is the type of leadership we need in order to switch completely to clean energy! Check out the full op-ed for more on Rep. Dingell’s vision.
